Term events
For all dates of the term events please see the Calendar page. The events that the Chaplaincy runs are as follows:
Vocations group: If you feel drawn to Priesthood or Consecrated life then come along and join our group where you can find out more about the life of the religious. You will be joined by other like minded students. It is a relaxed, informal group intended to help you learn more about this way of life. Meetings take place 6-7pm every other Monday from 5th October .
Taizé Prayer Service: Taizé is an ecumenical way of prayer in the Christian tradition. A reflective and meditative use of scripture and song. Services take place 6.30-7.30pm on the first Tuesday of each month in term time (6th October, 3rd November and 1st December).
To Know God: A series of six Thursday evening talks exploring the Catholic understading of God and Man's relationship with Him. The talks are entitled:
1. The Heart of the Matter (The Creed, the Virtues and Prayer)
2. What is the Mass? Obligation/Necessity?
3. Why Confession? What should I say? How often to go?
4. Why Priests? Celibacy. Male only and why?
5. The Four Last Things? Death, Judgement, Heaven and Hell.
6. What do we mean by a specific Catholic morality?
The sessions begin at 7.30pm and take place on Thursday 8th, 15th, 22nd and 30th October and 12th and 19th November. There will be an evening meal available before hand at 6.45pm.
Mary and the Church: A series of four talks/discussions to deepen our understanding of the role and place of Mary, Mother of the Lord and Mother of the Church in the Catholic Tradition. Four Tuesdays in October: 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th at 7.30pm.
